ORANGE
FLAMINGO (WB922)
Nearly
everyone knows what flamingos look like ---pink
birds with long legs. You can see them at just
about every zoo. You can find them in storybooks.
Alice uses flamingos as croquet mallets in Through
the Looking Glass (by Lewis Carroll). Images
of flamingos, standing under palm trees, appear
in paperweights and snow globes. Plastic
flamingos make colorful lawn ornaments!! But did
you know that some flamingos live high up in the
Andes Mountains of South America? Did you know
that Flamingos can swim, and flamingos can fly?
Its all true.
Our
Flamingos are the largest string puppets we sell
(38 inches tall) but they are as easy to operate
as our Ostrich Marionettes. They have their own
special control (without removable strings) and
they come in several beautiful colors.

SHEEPDOG
(WB933)
This Large
Sheepdog String Puppet is 38 inches tall from the
control to the bottom of the puppet's paws. He
really does have eyes, back somewhere under all
of that fur. All four legs walk as you rock the
control from side to side.

POODLES
A-PLENTY
 Here, straight from the
Westminister Dog Show, is Flea-Fe, Grand Prize
Winner and World Champion in the class designated
for Poodles who don't eat food (a fairly small
class). These Poodles stand 38 inches tall and
may be walked by simply rocking their controls
from side to side. Available in White
(WB943A), Black (WB943B)
or Pink (WB943C).

COCKER SPANIEL
(WB944)
A dog with
definite appeal as a family pet and child's
companion, the Cocker Spaniel breed had it's
beginnings in Spain and was developed along with
its cousins the Clumber, Sussex, Springer, Field,
and toy spaniels, in England as hunting dogs. You
won't have to hunt any farther for an easier
String Puppet to work. Just tip the control from
side to side to make this dog walk. Stands 38
inches tall.

AFGHAN (WB981)
This
hound is described by the Random House Webster's
Collete Dictionary as "a soft knitted or
crocheted blanket, often in a geometric
pattern." Oops... wrong paragraph (darn
small print again). "one of a breed of
tall, slender hounds with a long, narrow head, a
long, silky coat, and a topknot." This
charming string puppet is 38 inches tall and
fully paper trained.

|
CAMEL (WB931)
This Large
Camel String Puppet is 38 inches tall from the
control to the bottom of the puppet's feet. All
four legs walk as you rock the control from side
to side.

|
DONKEY (WB990)
According
to Webster's College Dictionary, this fine fellow
is "...a long-eared, slow, surefooted
domesticated mammal, related to the horse..."
What they don't say (of course) is that it makes
a fine, if somewhat stubborn, 38 inch tall string
puppet. Rock the control from side to side to
make him... uh... to make him just stand there
and defy you! If you can't make him do anything,
then don't worry. You are working him very
realistically. Congratulations!

ELEPHANT (WB939)
African
Elephants, such as the ones we offer here, have
large flapping ears. Indian Elephants (from
India) have smaller ears. Both use ear-flapping
as a bloodstream cooling system much like a car
radiator cools engine liquid. This string puppet
is 38 inches tall including string length.

GOATS
GALORE
Perfect
for your marionette production of "Billy
Goat's Gruff", or "The Little
Goatherd", or "The Three Little
Goats" or "Mary Had a Little Goat"
or... well, you get the idea. These 38 inch tall
String Puppets come in Winter White
(WB991A) and Foggy Gray (WB991B).

HORSES
OF A DIFFERENT COLOR
You'll be
singing "Hello, Ol' Paint" when you see
this 38 inch tall Large Horse Marionette in Bronco
Brown (WB952A). Sorry, but without the
saddle (not included and not an option), we do
not recommend riding him. With all those strings,
roping him isn't a good idea either. Just be
satisfied to make him gallop aound the room or
across the stage by rocking his control from side
to side! Also available in Black Beauty
Black (WB952B) and Hiho Silver
Away White (WB952C).

KANGAROO
(WB997)
A Kangaroo moves by hopping on its
hind legs, using its tail for steering and
balancing. They can hop at speeds up to 40mph.
When a Kangaroo is moving slowly the tail is used
as an extra leg that which offers support
standing on its hind legs. Most kangaroos can
only move both their back legs together and not
one at a time. Kangaroos are found in Australia,
Tasmania, and New Guinea. They are grazing
animals that eat grass, young shoots and leaves
of heath plants and grass trees. They need very
little water to survive and are capable of going
for months without drinking at all. Our Large Kangaroo Marionette
stands nearly 38 inches tall and can hop however
high you choose, using the his simple control.

MONKEY (WB963)
Born in
the beautiful Coconut Atolls, Maxwell Monkey
distinguished himself from his 17 brothers and
sisters by being the least ambitious of his
parent's children. Instead of doing his
chores, he would climb up a tree to snooze.
At age 6, accidentally harvested with a bunch of
coconuts, Maxwell was shipped to the United
States where he now works as a sun tan
consultant. Maxwell is 38 inches tall if you
include the strings.

|
CHIMPANZEE
(WB938)
Of the two
people pictured here, one is a large antropoid
ape of equatorial Africa having a hairy coat and
a relatively bare face. The other person pictured
here is NOT a 38 inch tall string puppet with an
easy-to-work control.

|
UNUSUAL
UNICORNS
These
beautiful horse-like creatures are often
described as a symbol of purity (rather than
practicality). We feel they probably became
mythical because people had such a difficult time
putting bridles on them... and those horns kept
poking out window screens. 38 inches tall, they
come in Wonderous White (WB992A)
and Passionate Purple (WB992B).
|

|
WONDERFUL
WOLVES
These
beautiful wolves, looking like they were just
chosen for hen-house guard duty, are perfect for
your production of "Little Red Riding Hood
Meets Peter and the Wolf." Simply rock their
controls back and forth to make them chase
rabbits, sheep and other dietary supplements. At
39 inches tall, they come in Red (WB969)
and Gray (WB968).
Sorry,
both of these puppets are sold out and more will
not be available until mid-2012.

|
ZEBRA (WB953)
This Large
Zebra Marionette sports his natural coloring
which is designed to make him invisible while
romping through the high grasses of the plains.
Here in the living room, of couse, he can be
plainly seen! He stands a full 38 inches tall and
can be make to gallop by simply rocking his
control from side to side.
